New Xbox 720 Technology

Well I play games and my favorite console is the Xbox 360. Until this day any game console that has tried to go away from the normal game controller has pretty much failed. You have games like the Wario which required you to look through glasses to play the game. Microsoft is trying to break the controller bounds by coming out with a virtual experience that would allow you to interact with the system by camera. The idea that they are pushing is that they can get the camera to pickup the movements you want to do and thus you can interact with the system.

I am very skeptical about this system I just don't see the technology yet to perform it and I know that some games will still be impossible to do without a controller. Microsoft is saying they have the technology so we shall see. The biggest issue I see is getting the computing power into the 720 and keep it cost affordable for gamers.

Here is the link you can check out an interview done with a microsoft employee.

  1. I think that this Xbox 720 is going to be the next biggest thing to game systems for this generation. It is going to change a lot within how we play games and also as well as introduce to some non-gamers into the gaming world. The 720 is going to be a big hit, but just depends on how much of a big hit that it is going to hit our wallets. But this is just my opinion.
So sorry Patrick but I believe that this fail item that you think is going to be a bomb, is going to be a big success. We will find out soon though, although I don't disagree with the glasses but this generation is ready for something like this. Unlike the other items that tried the no remote control usage, I just believe that the society just wasn't ready for it.

  2. I am waiting anxiously and patiently for this new technology. I could care less about how they get it to work, it just better work. I have a wii and its cool, I like it but every time I want to change games I have to change controllers and then pull out the other peripherals just to use the thing, that is what I do not like. I hope this new Microsofts scanning technology proves to be all and more than they expect. I am waiting and hopeful that it is. Good post but time will tell.
